Hair: Young Benjamin has thick, sand-coloured hair which is long enough to cover his high forehead. Benjamin doesn’t care about his hair, but when it grows over his eyebrows his mother forces him to let her cut it shorter.
Eyes: Benjamin’s grey-blue eyes give a misty, dreaming impression to other people. Those eyes are honest, brave and bright but at the same time cold and somehow judgemental.
Skin: People often think that Benjamin has poor health because of his pale skin colour. In fact, he is a little exceptional because all his family members are quite dark skinned.
General Appearance: Benjamin’s appearance grabs other people’s attention very easily. His lank body shape and ordinary hair colour create a great contrast to his extraordinary beautiful face. His angular jaw line and cheek bones stand out clearly making him look older than he really is.
It’s impossible to say what Benjamin is thinking. Even his parents are helpless with his inscrutable face. The most mysterious part in his face is his eyes which make a viewer to fight with conflicting emotions. The bright, honest judgement of his eyes forces other’s to look somewhere else but at the same time some strange attraction makes sure that you have to look them twice.

Mirror of Erised: Benjamin’s deepest desire is that his brother would become healthy again.

Personality: Benjamin keeps things very carefully inside him. He doesn’t let anyone to come near to his thoughts or emotions; not even his parents. However, even people may think so he’s not mean, he is just ignoring everyone around him. He doesn’t have any interest to anyone.
Benjamin answers when someone talks to him but in a way which feels like a chilly wind blowing through your body. He obviously prefers to be alone and rather concentrate to his school studies than be social. Because of his hard working, he gets good results in every subject, even in potions which he hates.

Good Traits: Benjamin’s best traits are obviously his great interest to magic which makes him work hard for school. He never gets into any trouble because he spends most of his time reading books and doing homework in the library or common room.

Bad Traits: Because of his introverted personality, Benjamin isn’t very popular among the other students. On the other hand, no one hates him either. He’s the misfit of the school. Benjamin is seldom seen to help other people by his own will. He only does what he’s been asked.

Family History: Bottham family moved from the coast to London when Benjamin was three. Their relatives live all around the island. His father’s parents are from North so also Scottish blood is running in Benjamin’s veins. His mother comes from a little village from the East coast. Bottham’s name isn’t much known among the wizard world because only Benjamin’s parents and his grandfather from his mother’s side are wizards.

Personal History: Benjamin Meldrick Bottham was born fifth of December as a firstborn to his parents. In very early years he showed his ability to magic by flying things around the house. Benjamin learnt to read when he was just four which impressed his parents and relatives very much. He used to spend his time reading books about muggle and magical history. That created his great interest towards that subject later.
When Benjamin turned nine, his brother William Jacob was born. Benjamin loved him over everything. He gave up reading to just spend time watching his brother sleep or playing with him. A year later something started to happen and William became seriously sick. It wasn’t a disease muggles could heal but it wasn’t a magical disease either. His parents and all the doctors and healers were helpless with the mysterious sickness. They tried all kinds of potions but nothing seemed to work. More likely they made him even worse.
After his brother wasn’t normal anymore Benjamin totally changed. He wanted to be alone and he didn’t talk to anyone. He concentrated to books again; he didn’t seem to have anything else in his life anymore. No one could make him talk more than two words. He just became completely introverted.
Benjamin received a letter from Hogwarts as expected in his eleventh summer. He decided to work really hard for school. He promised himself that one day he would be able to heal his brother. Because of the way how the healers treated William making his condition worse, Benjamin hated potions from the very beginning. However, he kept his promise and worked hard for every subject, even potions, trying all the time find a hint of the mysterious disease. He even spent all his holidays reading books from library.
As his third year started he became more hopeful. Every year he would learn more about magic and get closer to his aim...

Role Playing Example: Benjamin sat the farthest corner of the common room concentrated a book about stones with magical powers. His eyes were watering for reading and the lack of light made his head ache. He sighed and closed the book unwillingly. He was too tired to drag all the books to the bedroom. He stretched his arms and legs which made a cracking sound. Everywhere hurt for sitting too long on hard chair. He managed to get into the bedroom and as soon he had fallen on the bed, he fell asleep.
Benjamin never had dreams; his brains were always too tired of them. For some reason he still woke up by smallest movement or noise. It must have been almost morning when he opened his eyes. He had heard something. He watched around him and saw the other third grader boys still sleeping. He had heard something, he swore it. He looked out form the window next to his bed and saw the cause of his awakening. A huge eagle-owl was flying in his direction. The gorgeous animal landed behind the window and gently knocked it. Benjamin let it in even though he knew what was coming. No one ever sent him letters expect his parents and every time the message was the same. They wanted to know how he was doing and make him come back home for holidays. Although he knew what they wanted he always read their letters. After a while he threw the letter away feeling great frustrate. Nothing about his brother. They never talked about him in their letters. They thought that he would forget him and accept that he might never have normal life. But he wouldn’t. He was going to save little William’ life.

Why You Think You'd Role Play as This Character Well: I think that I will be able to play my character well because I made him myself and I spent quite a lot of time creating his personality and history. Even though English is not my native language, I think I’ll manage to write interesting texts. I’m also able to improve my language and imagination all the time when I play more and make my characters personality more complex and interesting.
