------------------------------------------------- Waiting For This Life To Change Seems Like It's Taking Forever
Nix walked through the silent halls of the school, thinking about a few things. Life in general, her sister who was to enroll at Hogwarts from her boarding school, a boy and how hungry she was. Well, there wasn't anything that she could do about her sister or the boy at this moment, but there certainly was something that she could do about her hunger. She just had to be very sneaky, very calm and she had to have a good backup plan. She was laying in her bed, listening to a few girls snoring. It was making her angry that she couldn't sleep because of her racing thoughts, but it made her happy because she could fulfill her plan to get something to eat.
Evangeline was rather sneaky, but always ended up getting caught. She didn't know why, never knew why... but she had a feeling that it was always her sister's fault that she would get caught sneaking around the place. She rubbed her brown eyes and lifted herself from her warm bed. Now this was going to be a challenge. To get used to the cold. She shivered slightly, even in her sweater and pajama pants. The towers were cold at night. Much like the dungeons, but only warmer by a few degrees. That was the downside about living in a castle for your school year. You were always cold. She shivered and shimmied out of her warm bed, getting a pair of fuzzy slippers on and sicking her wand in her sweater pocket.
Placing her long and tangled hair in a pony tail, she walked to her door and ran down the stairs to the common room, where a fire roared silently. She smiled and stayed by the fire for a moment or two, absorbing it's warmth. Sighing, she walked away from it and ventured outside of the comfort of the room. There was a strange feeling about being outside of your common room at night when no one was around to hear you. But there was always someone to watch you, silently, waiting to pounce at the right moment.
Rounding a few corners, and taking a few flights of stairs down towards the dungeon, she would be at her destination. The kitchens. There was a simplicity about the kitchens, something that was nice about it, homey even. Maybe it was the nice welcome that she always got from the House Elves that would work there non-stop, or simply the fact that she was out of harms way until she had to return to her common room. As she walked pleasantly through the halls, she heard someone's footsteps walking faster and faster. She whirled around and almost him the other person in the face with her now lit wand.

Hunger was a pain. Literally it was a pain. Right now Mark's stomach was twisting and turning begging for food. You could probably hear it grumbling all the way up in the Gryffindor Tower. Mark's room mates were already making fun of him for how loud his stomach was. Yet now they were throwing things at him and telling him to go get some food. to annoy them for a while he just sat there and smirked. If it was annoying them so much he would gladly sit there the whole night hungry. Yet his friends being quick thinkers quickly used magic and placed him outside of their dorm locking the door behind him. Mark's choice of words was nothing he would ever say in front of his lady friends. He did hear his friends laughing inside when he did finally decide to leave and go to the kitchen.
The pajama pants, no shoes and a t-shirt wasn't the smartest thing to wear around the castle. Plus having no wand since his so called 'friends' kicked him out without giving him one. So yes he was cold. The damn school had no heat what so ever and now he wasn't even in his common room where the fire was going. Roaming the halls going to the kitchen was something Mark was now doing half sleeping. Being tired and then also being hungry was not a good combination at all. And then before he knew it Peeves came out of no where. Not even bothering to be loud but rather scare Mark. So mark ended up sprinting down the hall until a wand was in his face almost poking his eye out.
"Ow! Turn the damn light off." Mark said sounding like a child and putting a hand in front of his eyes. The light burned his eyes and he knew when he pulled his hands away he would be seeing dots. This was just such a great night. He was hungry, cold, was scared and now he had someone trying to blind him. Just great.

Eva was a little startled at hearing a male's voice coming from behind her light. "Sorry," she whispered and dimmed her light, placing it at her side instead of at the boy's face. He was tall. Well, taller than she was. She was only a nice five foot two inches, not tall for a girl of her age. But she really didn't mind her height. Not at all actually. Please don't change, please don't change, she thought to herself. More like pleading. She glanced at her hair and thankfully they were the same length, and they were still the rich brown color she was born with.
"I didn't know other people liked to come out at night," she said with a light chuckle. She was humorous when she was tired, but if you met her when she was wide awake, she probably would walk right away. She was shy at times, especially with boys around. It was weird. In the past two days, she had encountered two boys. That's all. Sure, she was happy, but she knew that she would only amount to a friend in their eyes. Didn't bother her none, it's just that she was always the friend.
She looked around the corridor and noted that they were only on the fourth floor. They still had a nice four floors to cover. Well she did. She wasn't entirely sure where he was going yet. Soon, there was a nice awkward silence that hung in the air. Eva never liked those silences. They were weird and she could never get out of them. Well, thankfully her mouth didn't have to talk her out of that situation. It was her stomach that was doing the talking. It growled and screeched for food. "Wow, I didn't know I was that hungry," she mumbled, placing her free hand on her stomach, grinning like a five-year-old.

When the light was taken away Mark was now just seeing different colored dots everywhere. Sure he wasn't exactly blind but he had to close his eyes for a few good seconds to see correctly again. "Its alright."told the female even though he still wasn't getting used to the dark again. He only knew it was a female because of her voice. The most obvious reason out there. Well except for another one but Mark wasn't like that. No, he would not let his mind slip into the gutter.
At her statement Mark had to laugh a bit. Course other people liked to be out late. Especially when they were kicked out. "I had no choice. My room mates kicked me out." Mark told the girl. It wasn't something to be ashamed of. He did what he set out to do and that was to annoy his room mates. It was an easy task and now Mark really just had to go get some food in his system. Maybe he would go back to his dorm with food and just eat loudly in the dorm. If they unlocked the door. Hopefully they did. Mark would not want to spend the night in the common room. Even though those chairs were pretty comfy.
Now Mark just had to chuckle a bit when he heard the girl's stomach growl. Guess they were most likely heading to the same place. "And that would be the reason why I was kicked out." he said pointing to her stomach smiling. "Guessin' you goin' to the kitchen?" he asked. Well it was pretty obvious. C'mon your stomach didn't make noises like that if you weren't hungry.

Eva looked right at the boy and chuckled lightly. "Ahh, the whole room mate deal,"she said, knowing exactly how that was. "Well, my room mates snore?"She said trying to make his situation a little more pleasant. She knew that this wasn't really working either. She cleared her throat and looked away for a little moment and then back again.
He pointed at her stomach when it growled. Ah, so he was hungry too. Well I guess that would be a good reason to kick someone out. "Mmm, that I am. Wanna head there together?"'She asked with a light smile. This boy seemed nice and like someone that wouldn't rat her out. So she was being nice and inviting him for something to eat. "We could get some ice cream,"she said in a sing-song voice. Ice cream was her ultimite favorite thing to eat in the middle of the night.
She smiled once more, looking at the ground as her hair lightened itself a few shades . It wouldn't be noticed too much, unless the other party was very observant. She wished and hoped that he wasn't and if he was, he wouldn't question this ability.

Mark laughed quietly as the girl shared her own experiences with her room mates. He would sometimes make loud snoring noises on purpose to annoy his roommates. He definitely wasn't the best guy to sleep with but it was all fun. He has had the same roommates since first year and they have all had their share of pranks and gags one each other. And it just got worse as the years went on. "Well don't all dorms have their secrets." he said smiling like a person who was hiding something might.
He was going to accept her invitation to go to the kitchen with her. C'mon it would be more fun than going there alone. At least he would be able to talk with someone. "Sure. Ice cream sounds good." Mark said still smiling. He did love ice cream. Vanilla ice cream. He didn't like chocolate ice cream that much. He could handle some chocolate syrup on ice cream but not chocolate ice cream with chocolate syrup. "Well usually before I get ice cream, especially with a female. I know her name." Mark pointed out seeing they did not introduce each other yet. "I'm Mark Adams." he said smiling.

Eva smiled and shrugged her shoulders with a little nod. "They sure do,"she said in almost a whisper. Her dorm room sure had a lot of secrets, firghts, scandals and all of that. There was nothing wrong with that, seeing as they all knew each other for quite some time now. But there is also that feeling that you get in the pit of your stomach when you tell someone one of your secrets. Evangeline knew that feeling very well. It always happened to her when she would spill her dreams, desires and secrets to another person.
She looked at the boy and crimson tinted her pale cheeks. "Oh, nice to meet you Mark," she said with a light smile. "I'm Evangeline Nix," she stated in a low voice. She looked back up at him and nodded towards the kitchens. "Shall we?" She asked, looking right into those eyes. Which seemed to tell a story. She knew that they would become great friends. She could feel it.

Sure most guys would love to know what happens in girls dorm. But guess what? Mark had a sister and has seen the drama that happens first hand. So he stays far away from it. Very far. The fights that girls have over the stupidest things made him wonder why guys wanted to know this? Yes those girls fought over an outfit. Those girls fought over a guy. Those girls fought over which store was better to shop it. And those girls fought over if it was time for fall clothing when it was September. And usually girls didn't fight with fists. They fought with words. Rumors and gossip. How he hates both of those things. Mark's sister was in Slytherin so he has heard a fair amount of things.
"Nice to meet you Eva." Mark said shortening her name right away. There was no way he was going to say Evangeline all the time. Eva was short and much simpler to say. There was really no way to shorten Mark. It was already short. You could make it longer like his parents did with Zachy. Just ass a y to Mark and you had Marky. "And yes we shall." Mark said doing one of those funny hand gestures to tell Eva that she was to go first. "So what house are you in?" Mark asked smiling making conversation.
