Albus walked down the street, hands jammed deep into his pocket and his glasses perched carelessly on his nose. His messy hair blew gently in the wind as he took a sharp turn into the Post Office. A small sheet of parchment was stuffed into his pocket as he pulled it out. He rolled it up, tying it with a small string that he found in his other pocket. His own owl, Demetrius, had still not returned from his trip to Bulgaria with its letter to Viktor Krum. His letter denying Mr. Krum that he could not come to visit him and though it said that he would try for another time, he would not go the next either. He knew Krum was only looking for another Bulgarian seeker and even if it was a well-paying job, he had decided long ago that Quidditch was something that he didn't wish to play professionally. And plus, he wasn't even Bulgarian so he believed he wouldn't be widely accepted with all the other Bulgarians despite Krum's reassurance.
Al looked around the small post office, covered with the smell of owls and their feces. He walked over to the desk, handing the small parchment to the assumed owner of this office. When asked the color of the owl, he merely shrugged, not caring how fast his letter go there but as long as it did. He had written a letter to Lily, describing how much he missed her and telling her that he was on the verge of finding a job. He wasn't exactly on the verge of finding a job yet, but he had give his squib neighbor's car a quick wash which earned him some quick galleons. He had been a bit surprised that she had galleons, half expecting that her money be in pounds. But apparently she did do some wizard shopping. He was still learning something new each day despite this being the first September that he wasn't heading to Hogwarts on the Hogwarts Express.
Albus watched as the owner tied his small letter onto the leg of an orange owl and then it fly off in the direction of Hogwarts, which in fact wasn't all that far away. It wouldn't take long and he didn't understand why it matter which owl he chose. He pulled out the few galleons he had left and a knut that was stuffed deep into his back pocket and handed it to the man behind the counter. "There you go," he said, hearing the ringing of the bell to announce yet another customer. He didn't bother looking though, his attention caught on the Prophet. Nothing new, he thought glumly. He had half expected that Lucius Malfoy would be passing new measures left and right after being made Minister of Magic. Well, maybe he was treading carefully and waiting for the right moment. Playing it safe was Al's best guess.

The blond nurse walked down the very worn down dirt path that led to the Hogsmeade Village. That was one perk of staying at the Hogwarts Castle. The village was close by and was good for when she needed a mini shopping spree. Actually that wasn't why she was coming to the village today. She actually had a letter in hand for her cousin James. She kept him informed about what was going on around Hogwarts and if anything looked suspicious. With Umbridge as headmistress it really didn't help. She was always showing her power over the other professors. Except Draco Malfoy of course since he was in the Minister's son. Yet she was a cruel woman to Victoire because of her last name. At first the woman didn't even know she was a Weasley because of her appearance Yet once Vikki introduced herself it was immediate dislike.
The Village wasn't packed since the students weren't allowed to come down here yet. Of course Vikki was. She was Hogwarts Staff. She could do whatever she pleased. Even though she would like to be somewhat quick since she left the Hospital in the hands of a responsible Hufflepuff. Yet she still didn't trust the girl that well yet. Who really would? She has been working there about a week and has already taken a break for a bit. But an owl in the Hospital wouldn't be healthy. She was sure Umbridge would say something about it and hopefully the Hufflepuff girl wouldn't rat her out to that old toad.
Going into the Post Office Victoire still never got used to the smell. She hated it and it reminded her why she never went into the owlery while she was at school. Yet she saw a familiar fella standing in the shop looking at the Daily Prophet. She walked over to the counter without looking at Albus and handed the letter to the worker. "Ministry of Magic. And it can take its time." she told the man then handing over some money. It wouldn't be much since she wanted it to take its time but it was money well spent. Even though there was no news for James about death eaters regrouping again.
After that she went over to Al and placed a hand on his shoulder and read some of the headlines of the paper. "You should know by now that those are all lies." she told her cousin. Victoire actually doesn't remember the last time she read the Prophet. Sure she looked at some headlines but nothing more than that. She hated the lies in there and she especially hated Lucius Malfoy.

Albus' eyes scanned the rest of the headlines for anything else, any type of news of the going-ons at Hogwarts and maybe something in the Ministry. But like before, he found nothing. It seemed too quiet in the Prophet today. Fear grew inside of him, afraid that something at Hogwarts might have really happened and that his little sister wasn't safe after all. Now he prayed that his letter would travel with lightening speed and that when he apparated home, she would've already sent a letter back to him, informing him that everything was alright and he had nothing to fear. He knew that he shouldn't let his thoughts get carried away but he felt that he had to look after his sister. James was too busy being a heroic auror to pay attention to Lily. With no parents and his older brother running off playing hero, Al had to be there.
A familar voice floated over to him and he assumed it must be the customer that had came in. Al was about to turn around to see who it was when a hand came onto his shoulder and the voice now spoke to him. He caught sight of blonde hair and knew that it was his cousin, Victoire. She was his only Weasley cousin with blonde hair and she was easily recognized among the rest of his cousins. He nodded his head, knowing that his cousin was right. The Ministry was too quiet. They had to be up to something. The same fear he had earlier for Lily filled him dread once more. He swore on his life if anything ever happened to her, he would make them pay. For his dad. For his mum. They would pay. He took a deep breath, calming himself down and finally turned toward his cousin.
"Yeah, I know," he replied, his eyes meeting hers and parting away from the Prophet's lies. "But it never does hurt to look, I guess." He wondered why Victoire would need to send a letter to the Ministry. Possible to his brother. Or maybe another family member within the Ministry's ranks. Some of his own family had suggested to him to become part of the Ministry but it had never interested him enough to even think about joining. Most had thought that he would follow his father's footsteps and become an auror, but though the job would prove to fill his adventerous needs, he wasn't interested. Especially since he didn't believe that he could handle the fact that his father might have sat at the same place where he was at.
Al pulled himself out of his thoughts once more. "I haven't seen you in a while. I heard that you're a nurse for Hogwarts now," Albus commented, forcing a smile. She had, at least, a job. A job that would bring her money and keep her stable financially. "How have you been?" He wondered if her and Teddy were still dating. He could still remember James walking in on them snogging in his first year. But that was now 7 years ago and he had graduated Hogwarts now. Things could've changed and with his drawback from his family, he probably wouldn't have heard about any new changes with relationships. Just snid bits from conversations he overheard from his cousins when they came over for dinner or when the whole Weasley family when over to Grandmum Weasley's house.

Victoire has to smile. She just had to keep on smiling and try and piece her life back together bit by bit. She knew Albus had taken the hardest hit with the sudden lost of his mother and father. She wasn't saying James and Lily weren't equally crushed but with Albus you saw it. From growing up with all the Potter children Victoire saw how Albus looked and acted differently. He distanced himself from most family events and just stayed away from people in general. Yet Vikki did notice he did stay with his brother and sister a lot. Well when James was home.
It probably looked weird to Albus that Vikki was sending a letter to the Ministry. Most of the family knew how much she despised and stayed away from that place at all costs possible. But it was always good to inform James and the other aurors whom he trusted that all was well at Hogwarts as far as Victoire knew. And out of everyone working there she would be the last to learn anything. Seeing she was a Weasley and she spent most of the time in the Hospital and not with the other teachers. "And yes it does hurt to look. You get to see how crappy of a job Malfoy is doing." Victoire told her cousin. That is why she stayed clear of the Prophet. Always had something to do with Lucius Malfoy. She didn't need a paper to tell her how many laws he was passing and on how he would try eventually to rid the world of half bloods, muggle borns and blood traitors.
The pressure Vikki thought that must be on Albus must be unbearable. James was always working, Lily was back at school where Umbridge was now in charge of and Albus was left alone. She could never do that. Mostly why the reason she became a nurse because there would always be someone who needed her. Always someone would be hurt and asking her to help them. She would always be needed. When Albus spoke she smiled that he had at least heard she got a job nursing at Hogwarts. That was a good sign. He was keeping in touch with someone. "Yeah. Going back to school for a while. Don't worry I'll keep an eye on Lily for you." she told her cousin with a slight wink. Of course she would keep an eye on her! it was her cousin and she was keeping an eye on everyone there!
"I've been doing good. The whole nursing job surprised me. Didn't think Umbridge would hire me. Probably didn't know who I was." Victoire said with a slight laugh. True she looked less and less like a Weasley each day. Even though she wasn't changing much her fair did tend to get lighter the more time she spent out in the sun. "How have you been? Haven't really talked with you in a while." Vikki said smiling. Yes she was back to smiling again. And no it wasn't at all weird for Victoire talking with her cousin who she hasn't seen in a while in the Owl Post Office in the village of Hogsmeade. Really going back to Hogwarts soon was not an option for her right now. She wanted to know what her cousin has been up to and how he was doing. That was more important that any student at the school.
