Jude stepped into the Leaky Cauldron, his boots squeeking loudly from the rain outside. Figures. The very moment he had stepped outside, the rain had began to pour. It always did that. Those who thought themselves wise would say it was because his name was Jude Rein. Everytime it rained, they would tease him, claiming it was a Reiny Day. Unfortunately, Jude had heard that joke too many times for it to amuse him anymore.
Rolling his eyes at his old memories, he went up to the counter and ordered himself a firewhiskey. Uncomftorably busy it seemed today. Perhaps everyone else had decided to take shelter in this little hut until the rain let up.
At last, Jude recieved his drink and went off to find himself a table. Nearly all of them had been taken, and Jude was just about to suck it up and return to the rain before he noticed one in the far corner. Now leaning against the comfort of a chair, and the warmth of the firewhisky working his magic, Jude felt at ease.

How this young woman hated the rain. The rain meant cloudy skys and it just looked depressing. Something that Victoire didn't like. She loved when it was sunny out and you could see the blue sky. Yet living in England the gray clouds were out a lot. The Leaky Cauldron seemed to be the sanctuary everyone went to along with Vikki. The bar was so packed that Victoire thought of maybe going somewhere else. Yet Hannah Longbottom caught site of her and Victoire knew there was no way out now. It would kill Hannah to see her leave. So Victoire made her way through the tavern, which was mostly packed with drunk men.
Finally getting to the bar Hannah Longbottom was already holding out a butterbeer for Victoire. "Thank you." she told her friend as she went off into the crowd again. Its a good thing Victoire was a tough girl or those saying those drunk men were giving her would have made a normal girl blush madly. Yet Vikki learned at a young age that men would be attracted to her because of the veela blood that ran through her veins. Plus she was just naturally beautiful.
Getting to a quiet a corner without spilling her butterbeer proved to be quite a task but she managed. Now it was just to find a place to sit. There was one guy who was sitting by himself. He looked familiar to Victoire. She had a feeling they might have graduated together but weren't in the same house. So she went over to where he was sitting and asked politely, "Hey do you mind if I sit here? Everywhere is filled." Hopefully he would let her sit down or it was back through the sea of men and Victoire's temper might not just stay down this time.

Jude had noticed her long before she had spotted him. Who wouldn't after the uproar among the male population of the place her arrival had caused? When she had stopped at his table he couldn't help but feel a sense of surprise and confusion mingling with a jolt of his memory. Taking in her appearance, Jude couldn't recall where he had known her from. He was sure that he had seen her before. The time and place at the moment however escaped him.
"Sure" He replied, with a shrug, decided he wouldn't really mind some company. Whether it was the odd sense of calm that the firewhiskey had been spreading through his body, or the fact that he had not run into any people he disliked yet, he wasn't sure. Perhaps it was just the curiousity of where he'd met this woman before that he replied so nicely. So, unlike himself. "Jude Rein. And you are?"

Victoire couldn't help but smile as he said she could sit down with him. That would surely shut up the male population in here who was still watching her since she was now with another male. She sat down in the seat across from him setting his butterbeer down onto the table. "Thanks." Victoire said before she took another sip of her butterbeer. It frustrated her to try and remember this man. Surely she had known him from somewhere but she just couldn't place it. She hated this feeling. She liked knowing names so when someone started to talk with her she knew who she was exactly talking to.
Jude Rein. The name sounded very familiar to her. She was positive she graduated with him now. "I think I might have graduated with you. I'm Victoire Weasley." she said still being polite. Tonight she had to head back to the Hogwart Castle. The school nurse position made she sure she was always there. She may even have to spend breaks there except summer break since if a student caught a cold or something. That might have been the reason why most of the school nurses while she was in school were so old. Ah, she would get used to it. Some of her family was still at the school.

At her reply Jude couldn't help but feel disappointed. A Weasley? There was no way that could be! She sure didn't look like a Weasley of any sort. Weren't they all supposed to be red haired and freckle-faced? This woman was nothing of the sort. In fact, though Jude hated to admit it now that he knew her heritage, she was rather pretty. It seemed utterly impossible, but Jude could see that she was not lying.
Now at the reminder of graduation he could see how he had not thought of that. While at Hogwarts, Jude had done everything in his power to get in and get out. It had always felt like a prison in there. With no breathing space. Well at least, it had been like that for him. He couldn't wait to get out of there.
Struggling though he was to keep his voice only politely interested, he spoke quietly and one could not notice the slight strain in his voice. "A Weasley eh?" He said softly. "Ah. Graduation. I'm fairly certain that I remember you now. Which house were you in?"

The Weasley family was always so well known. Either you liked them or you hated them. There was no in between. Most people thought that Victoire was the daughter or Ron or one of the twins. They seemed to forget that there was always Bill and Charlie Weasley. Bill was her father who married Fleur. Then there was whole different story on how people treated the Potters. A lot of people hated them since it was Potter and a Weasley's child. Yet now most people showed them sympathy after what happened to Harry and Ginny. Since Vikki's blood was already a boiling a bit from what the males said this memory didn't make her any better. Yet she managed to keep calm and not lash out at anyone.
Now Jude seemed like the guy who didn't like the Weasley family. Just the way his voice changed it was easy to tell that he did not expect her to be a Weasley. Sure Vikki has gotten this on more than one occasion. Yet she was fine with a guy who wasn't too fond of her family right now. It was better than being in the crowd of drunken men. "I was in Ravenclaw. And if I do recall you were in Slytherin?" she asked raising an eyebrow slightly. No she didn't know for certain that he was in Slytherin it was just how he reacted toward her name that made her think that he was a Slytherin.
True in school everyone thought that Victoire was lying about her last name. Come on a blond Weasley who was in Ravenclaw? It was crazy to believe. Yet not many knew that Bill Weasley got married to Fleur so why would they expect a blond Weasley? Vikki was really one of the only blond Weasleys. Even her brothers and sisters at least had some sign of red hair.

Jude couldn't help but let a small smile play on his lips. He could tell that this Victorie could see through his careless facade. Afterall, he had never been much of an actor. His face must have said it all when he had replied. "Guilty as charged" He said with a light smirk, taking a sip of his drink.
Jude was amused at the thought of what his friends would have said about him sitting here enjoying a conversation with a Weasley. Like he cared what they had to say. To be honest, Jude thought that some of his friends spoke only for the sake of hearing their voice.
"So what brings you here Ms. Weasley?" He said, leaning back against his chair. "Or is it Mrs..?" He added questionly.

Victoire couldn't help but laugh slightly. At least he didn't deny being in that house in order to try and get on Victoire's good side. Personally she hated that house with a bloody passion. All it ever housed was death eaters who kept killing off her family. And for the most part it was a mutual hatred. Slytherins never liked the Weasleys and the Weasleys didn't like Slytherins. So if they stayed out of each others way it would be fine. Yet that never happened so there was always harsh words passed between each other.
"You were right the first time. Its just Ms." Victoire said holding up both her hands to show she didn't have a wedding ring or engagement ring. There were rings on her fingers but those were gifts from family on her mother's side. "I'm here because I have to get back to Hogwarts later tonight. And I had to stop and get something warm before I continued." she explained. Plus Hannah would kill her if she knew Victoire was around and didn't stop in. Vikki took another sip of the butterbeer to keep warm. Yes for some people they would be confused on why she was going back to Hogwarts. Well she had just gotten the position of the school nurse there and she was always needed there. Stupid kids bullying other kids or just sick kids.
"And how about you?" Victoire asked and she was referring to both questions. if he was married since it was harder to tell with guys and why he was here. Sure it was easy for guys to be here in the evening. Most came to get drunk yet it didn't seem like that was what Jude was doing or he should have at least drowned his third firewhiskey by now.

Jude nodded at the answers to his questions. He suspected that she must be a professor of some sort. Or perhaps she just felt like stopping by her old school. "So do you teach..?" He asked curiously before answering her question.
"Well, despite my name, I don't fancy the rain all that much. And I was in town, and figured a dry spot was what I needed." He answered, making a lame attempt at a joke. "Didn't know that was what everyone was doing as well though or I might not of come" He added, looking around the room dramatically.
Some of the men were still staring, and they were starting to get on his nerves. If there was one thing that Jude couldn't tolerate was people who didn't know how to mind their own buisness. Jude guessed that they were only staring because some of them were to drunk to realize what they were doing. Wondering mildly if their eyes would still be able to stare if he were to make their face permantly in their brainless expressions, Jude returned his gaze to Victorie.

Teaching maybe that would have been an easier profession than becoming a nurse. He mum would love it because she would try and get her to teach at her old school. Yet Victoire would really need to pick up on her French since their main language there was French. "No I don't teach. I'm actually the school nurse." she informed him smiling. Merlin, how many of the drunken guys in here would love to hear that. A nurse. Yeah a teacher would have been easier to tell drunken males.
Okay maybe Slytherins really didn't have a sense a humor but Victoire laughed trying not to be rude. Her laugh didn't sound forced it actually sound like she meant it. Maybe an actress would have been a career choice. Could laugh on cue, was naturally beautiful. Yes sounded like a dream profession. "Ah, everyone is always here. I also didn't expect it to be this crowded. Guess a lot of males wanted to get drunk tonight." Victoire said letting a light laugh loose. She knew if she looked around the room she would be able to find some of the men still starring in her direction. Yet she was choosing to ignore them hoping none of them were bold of stupid to actually try and talk with her.

A nurse? Interesting. Though he did not know why exactly, but he had pictured her as the teaching type for some odd reason. Even now that she had mentioned her job, he could not see her as a nurse. Strange. Maybe it was just that she seemed very insightful, as she had seen through his hidden tolerance for the Weasleys. "I work for the Department of Magical Transportation" He said, seeing as she had told him her profession he felt the need to tell her his.
"Seems to be the case." He said, an underlining of annoyance leaking through his voice at the reminder of the consitant staring. "People don't seem to know the phrase 'mind your buisness' anymore do they?"

It seemed like the Ministry was a very popular place for jobs. Victoire's cousins got some jobs there and even some were aurors. She didn't understand how they could live with that job. After what their family went through Vikki hated the Ministry. Yet it was no surprise to her that a former Slytherin got a job at the Ministry with Lucius as Minister. "Ah, I have family working at the Ministry. Interesting place that is." Victoire said trying to hide her dislike for the Ministry how Jude tried to hide his dislike for the Weasleys.
Ah, how the starring used to annoy Victoire to no end. Yet as she got older she got used to it and sometimes it came in handy. But for the most part she learned just to ignore it completely. "You get used to after the years. My mum when she brought me shopping, we would get stared at the whole time. My mum has more veela in her blood than I do. Yet she has a husband and people knows she isn't single. With me on the other hand..." Victoire said informing Jude that yes she was indeed part veela. Also there was no need for her to finish her sentence Jude would be able to figure it out. the list was too long for Victoire to remember how many times she has pushed a guy away from her.

Jude allowed a small smirk appear on his face. He had been watching her closely and he could see that she did not approve of the Ministry any more than he enjoyed the fact that she was a Weasley. Curious though he was as to why that was, he did not voice his wonders. He had never been a man of many words, and he did not expect wish to ask questions that were too personal, so as to not be asked them in return.
He merely nodded before answering. "That could be one description," He replied, with a slight grin.
Working at the Ministry truly was, if anything, interesting. Even till now, he would still recieve calls from god-knows-where to see yet another idiot who didn't know how to apparate properly, or, some fool who didn't understand the mere consept of 'you can not sell illegal broomsticks'. It got rather annoying.
At her final comment, Jude raised his eyebrows. Part-veela? Now there was something he hadn't heard in a while. "So you are part-veela?" He asked. "Well that explains the starring. I was starting to think these men had fallen asleep while someone drew eyes on their eyelids"

It wasn't like it was the Ministry's fault, was a sentence that she was heard many times. And whoever told her that was right. It wasn't the Ministry who killed her two uncles and aunt. But since the Ministry was already on a down fall they could have done something. Sent more aurors or they could have just gotten rid of the death eaters no matter what their excuses were during the Last Battle. It would have saved a whole lot of trouble seeing they were acting up again. Victoire didn't want to lose more family in another battle.
"Yeah, it is definitely only one word." Victoire said agreeing. Other words came to mind like corrupted, unuseful, death eaters and others that went along with that. C'mon Lucius Malfoy as Minister of Magic their had to be death eaters in there.
How Vikki loved people's reactions when she told them she was part veela. Guys usually said that would explain a lot while girls would first look shocked but them eventually they would glare at her. Cause they all thought it must be oh so useful having guys starring at you where ever you went. Actually no it was annoying. "Yes I am part-veela. But the starring is also cause they are half drunk. Normal men, who aren't drunk usually look away after a good while of starring." Vikki said laughing a bit. Since her mum had the most veela in her veins she got more stares than Victoire did. But it was even worse when they were together because then it was all ages of men.

Jude smirked at her response. He knew she must have been thinking about what they were doing placing Lucius Malfoy as the Minister of Magic. Jude knew it was a rather bold move on their part, and in his opinion a rather stupid one aswell. But Jude had already voiced his concerns at that step, but obviously, they had not paid attention to him and went with the plan anyway. Foolish really. Why didn't they just announce that the death eaters were back in command and be done with it? The wizarding world suspected as much anyways.
He listened to her explanation to the drunken men. Ah. So at least he wouldn't have to pummel them to the ground. Even as the thought occured to him, he glared one of them down until the idiot understood the message to look away. "Doesn't it bother you..?" He asked curiously. It bothered him, and he did not ususally get such attention. But the whole while he had been sitting here with her was enough to drive him insane. He didn't like attention.
