It was obvious to tell that the young blond walking into the Leaky Cauldron has been there many times before. Probably more than the average customer since her family was good friends with the owner of the tavern. Yet Victoire hasn't been in here much over the summer. Right now it was actually the beginning of September and she was due at Hogwarts but evening. For the sorting ceremony and such. What a difference that would be for Vikki. All the time she has ever been to Hogwarts she was always to the Ravenclaw table. Yet now she had to sit at the Head table along with the other professors. She was sure that by the end of the night she would be in the Hospital Wing with some first year student faking sick or a first year student who has gotten bullied.
The Weasley child went and sat down at an empty table that was pretty much in the middle of the tavern. All around her were people some she didn't know and others she slightly remembered. To them she gave them a slight smile. To those drunkards already at the bar this early it was probably a great sight to Victoire walk in. Not just because she was naturally beautiful but men were just attracted to her. Thanks to her mother, veela blood ran in her veins. Today was a day she decided to wear wizarding robes. It was a black robe and made out of the best material in France. A present from her mother. Underneath she had on a light blue sweater with a pair of black slacks. Keeping causal for the first day of school.
Before Vikki knew a cup of tea was placed in front of her by one of the waitresses. She didn't even place an order but knew who gave her to cup of tea. She looked over to the bar to see Hannah Longbottom smiling at her. Victoire smiled back to her and mouthed a thank you since Hannah wouldn't be able to hear it over the noise of the tavern anyways. Taking a sip of the tea, her smile got wider seeing Hannah knew her too well. The tea was exactly how she liked it with lots of honey. See there were some perks to being a Weasley. Everyone knew your family. Yet Victoire was one of the only Weasleys without red hair.
Suddenly Victoire remembered that she had brought a book with her. It was just some reading before she went over to Hogwarts for the school year. It was a book on simple accidents that most likely would happen to teenagers. Pimples, broken bones, over grown teeth, and how to treat different jinxes. You know the sort of things that would happen at school. She flipped open to a page and began reading putting the book down on the table in front of her tea.

Meleny was pacing around her cubicle at the ministry. It was one of those days when her nerves were on edge and all she wanted was to get away from her horrible boss and go somewhere for a quiet cup of tea. It came as quite a shock to Meleny that her boss was none other than Lucius Malfoy, the father of Draco Malfoy who she went to school with along with Harry Potter and the rest of the trio. It had taken a lot of cajoling to convince Lucius to let her stay at Hogwarts as an auror and protect the students. He had seemed strange about her request when she frist asked as if he didn't think it would be a good idea for her to be there. Eventually he gave in after she reluctantly promised to do all of his bidding for him as well as still living up to her normal duties at the ministry. She resented being treated like a house elf and waiting on Lucius hand and foot as if he were back in his own manor instead of at work. She had just returned from the minister's office to give him yet another cup of tea and was now planning a brief escape from his constant orders.
It was very important that she be at Hogwarts at all times while Umbridge was headmisteress. As a fifth year her rules had been very unreasonable and she was nothing more than a horrible old tyrant. When she was 15 she had to be extra careful around Umbridge because she had been a member of the secret society Dumbledore's Army and it was forbidden to do actual defensive spells. Now that Meleny was no longer a human and was a vampire (with a human side) she had to make sure she dosen't know that she isn't a human. Umbridge hates half breeds and she could end up facing death or end up fired from the ministry. She needed this job more than anything in the world with the presence of some new dark force out there. She had given up her lifelong dream of becoming a healer and saving the lives of those who had been hurt and or injured by dark magic to instead protect the wizarding world up front as an auror. She sat at her desk and wrote a note in case someone was needed her later. "Went out for a cup of tea. Be back later." it said.
She got up from her desk and walked out of the ministry. She walked until she was a safe distance away from muggles to apparate. She wasn't sure where she was going to go but she didn't care. She thought until the Leaky Cauldron popped into her head. She closed her eyes and ended up outside of the leaky cauldron a minute later. She opened the door and walked in. She looked around and saw Hannah Longbottom, the landlady and one of her former classmates behind the counter. She gave her a polite and friendly smile and a greeting wave then sought out one of the waitresses. She watched as one of them appeared behind the counter. "Hello. I'd like one cup of tea, please with some sugar." she said. The woman handed her a cup and some sugar packets. "Thank You." she said turning away from the counter. She looked around again and saw a familiar blonde haired girl sitting at one of the tables reading. She looked a little like Fleur. She then recognized her as the school nurse. She went over to the table and smiled. "Hey, Vikki. I don't know if you know me. I'm Meleny. I work at the ministry. Do you mind if I sit with you?" she asked politely.

Victoire looked up when someone said her nickname. It was a nickname, which she has had since she was young given to her by one of her cousins. She didn't know which one it was exactly but would bet money it was James. He was the closest to her and he would seem like the person to give her that nickname. The person who called her name looked slightly familiar. Somebody who she has probably met before and probably should remember her name yet nothing came to her mind. Yet Victoire always being the nicest person could not not just shoo this woman away. Vikki was thankful when the woman said her name was Meleny. Ah yes she worked at the Ministry she believed with James.
"Sure. I don't mind." Victoire said closing her book and placing it on the other empty chair that surrounded the table. It would have been rude on her part if she kept on reading while their was some else now sitting at the table. Plus what she had been reading was review. She already knew all those things. It was just a quick reminder for her. The first day as being the School Nurse for Hogwarts. Someone would think that a young girl like herself would rather spend her time somewhere else. And not back at school. Yet Vikki had good memories at that school and she liked helping people. So it worked.
"So hows the Ministry business going?" Victoire asked Meleny getting into some conversation. Victoire had a feeling that the Ministry was corrupted. As soon as Lucius Malfoy got appointed Minister of Magic Vikki had an eerie feeling go threw her. This wasn't right. She would have liked to follow the line of most of her family and become and auror but it seemed like she would be better helping people. And now even working at Hogwarts where Umbridge was the Headmistress she could help. Her family was always ready for the death eaters to attack again or for someone to raise up in the dark arts. With Vikki being at Hogwarts she could hear what was going on. Draco Malfoy was working at Hogwarts also so maybe something could be found out. Even though she wasn't a spy she thought of this more as saving her family who has already suffered enough loses.

Meleny sat down at the table with Victorie and opened one of the sugar packets. She poured the sugar into the tea and picked up a teaspoon on the table and started to stir. She looked up at Victorie when she spoke. She'd rather not talk about work but like Victorie she didn't like to be rude and couldn't just evade the subject as she would've normally done. Victorie was a good friend and an excellent witch so for her she would recap the trials and tribulations of her day at the ministry so far. "Lucius has me doing all his dirty work. I have to wait on him hand and foot if I want to guard Hogwarts."she answered. "He had me bring him 5 cups of tea this morning at lunch and 2 cups of coffee."

It was a bit obvious that Meleny didn't like her job that much. Never mind that she just didn't like Lucius. Well who would? He was a Malfoy after all. "That man definitely doesn't need that much caffeine." Vikki said trying to make alight of the situation. Even Victoire who could be a teaholic didn't drink that much. "Thats horrible. But we all know he just doesn't want an auror near Hogwarts. He's going to try and keep you away from Hogwarts as much as possible with stupid errands." Vikki said pretty much knowing that Meleny probably also came to this conclusion.
Even though Vikki wasn't part of the Ministry much of her family was in it. So she knew about different things that went on and different secrets that were passed. After Victoire's two uncles and aunt were killed she didn't want anything to do with the Ministry. How could the Ministry do that to her family? Didn't they already lose enough family in the Last battle at Hogwarts? It literally shocked Vikki when her cousins signed up to be aurors. "Well I get to work with Lucius's son at Hogwarts. Draco is the defense against the dark arts teacher. Don't know how in the world he got that job." Victoire said taking another sip of her tea while shaking her head. Draco Malfoy a defense against the dark arts teacher. Vikki didn't understand that. And then there was Umbridge to top it all off. Yes Hogwarts was under great protection.
